SSC JHT 2022
SSC JHT is a national level exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission (SSC) for recruitment to the posts of Junior and Senior Hindi Translators and Junior translators in various ministries/ departments of the Government of India.
Approximately 12000 candidates apply for the exam year which makes it a fairly competitive exam. SSC JHT are entrusted with translating and typing documents in Hindi and keeping records of all documents and files in the respective departments.

SSC JHT is an annual exam conducted by the Staff Selection Commission. This year SSC has released the SSC JHT Notification 2022 on 20th July 2022 on the official website. The exam will be conducted in October 2022. The number of vacancies and the exam date will be intimated by SSC in further notices.

How to fill SSC JHT Application Form 2022?
SSC JHT Application Process comprises of two parts – Part I and Part II.
Part I: New User SSC JHT Registration
- Click on the link ‘SSC Junior Hindi Translator Application Form' in the official ssc.nic.in website which redirects to the registration page or you can register directly from the registration box in the home page.
- Click on the ‘New Registration' tab.
- Enter all the personal details and click on the ‘enter' button to proceed further for the registration process.
- Note down the Registration number and password which is generated.
Part II: SSC JHT Application Form
- Login using your registration number and password to fill this part.
- Choose exam center, enter all the necessary details .
- After registration, upload your scanned photograph, signature. Also upload your left thumb impression if Aadhaar Card number is not given.
- After uploading images of signature and photograph, click on submit button.
- Take print-out of challan for payment of fee in cash generated online after completion of part I registration. Deposit the exam fee in any branch of State Bank of India and then continue with the Part II registration.
- Candidates who want to pay online through net banking/ debit/ credit cards, can go directly to part II registration after completion of part I by clicking the ‘payment' tab.
- After completion of payment procedure, candidate may take a print out of their filled application form.

SSC JHT Application Fee 2022
The Application fees is Rs.100/- for General category and OBCs. Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, Persons with disability, Ex-servicemen and Women candidates are exempted from SSC JHT fee payment. You can pay the fees online with BHIM UPI, Net banking and any of the credit and debit cards. Offline payment can be done though challan in any SBI branch.

SSC JHT Eligibility Criteria 2022
The various eligibility criteria for SSC JHT 2022 are provided below :
SSC JHT 2022: Nationality
Candidates applying for SSC Junior Hindi Translator must be:
- An Indian citizen, or
- A subject of Bhutan, or
- A subject of Nepal, or
- A Tibetan refugee (came to India before January 01, 1962), or
- A person of Indian origin (who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries, Vietnam, etc. with the intention of permanent settlement in India.
SSC JHT 2022: Educational Qualification
(a) For Junior translators in various ministries
- Masters degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
- and Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or two years‟ experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.
(b) For Senior Hindi Translator in various Central Government Ministries/ Departments / Offices)
- Master's degree of a recognized University in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree of a recognized University in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree of a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of an examination at the degree level;
- or Master's degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject or as the medium of examination at the degree level;
- or Master's Degree from a recognized University in any subject other than Hindi or English, with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects or either of the two as a medium of examination and the other as a compulsory or elective subject at degree level
- and Recognized Diploma or Certificate course in translation from Hindi to English & vice versa or three years experience of translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in Central or State Government Office, including Government of India Undertaking.

SSC JHT 2022 : Number of attempts
There is no specific cap mentioned on the number of times a candidate can attempt for SSC JHT. You are eligible to attempt if your age limit permits.

SSC JHT 2022: Selection Process
Candidates must appear for Paper 1 and get qualified for the next stage i.e. Paper 2 examination and those who qualify in paper 2 will be called for document verification and appointment on merit. There will be a negative marking of 0.25 marks for each wrong answer in Paper-I.
