Introduction to Adverbs
An adverb is a word that modifies or describes a verb, adjective, or another adverb. It often answers questions such as how, when, where, or to what extent.
Examples of Adverbs
1. Modifying a verb: She sings beautifully.
2. Modifying an adjective: He is extremely tall.
3. Modifying another adverb: She runs very quickly.
Important Points about Adverbs
- Adverbs often end in "-ly", but not always (e.g., "fast", "hard").
- They can indicate time, place, manner, degree, or frequency.
- Adverbs can appear before or after the word they modify.
Common Mistakes with Adverbs
Incorrect: She performed good on the test.
Correct: She performed well on the test.
Incorrect: He speaks English very good.
Correct: He speaks English very well.

Correct: They arrived quickly.
